The Glitter Band (AKA The Hey Band) are one of the few acts that can truly claim to have defined a musical era with their innovative sound and tribal rhythms. Their hits with Gary Glitter and as recording artists in their own right remain firmly in the memories of the fans who lived through that era as well as proving to be timelessly popular some 35 years on with a whole new breed of glitter fans. These songs remain the soundtrack to an entire generation of music lovers.NOW FEATURING ORIGINAL LEAD SINGER JOHN SPRINGATE!!! The Glitter band are delighted to announce the return of original lead singer John Springate to the band. John’s voice was featured on The Glitter Band’s million selling International hits and his face broke the hearts of a thousand screaming fans. Also returning to the Glitter Band in 2009 is long serving legendary keyboard player Eddy Spence. Eddy and John are joining original drummer Pete Phipps in this exciting 2009 line up. The new line up will be as follows:

Eddy Spence-Guitar and Vocals
Graham Clayton-Bass Guitar/Drums and Vocals
Dominic Rodgers-Guitar and Vocals
Marc Pearson-Guitar and Vocals The show will also feature the ALL NEW legendary STAR GUITAR (As debuted at the 2008 Birmingham International Music Show). This guitar has been commissioned by The Glitter Band for Marc Pearson and has been hand crafted by JOHN BIRCH Guitars, the company who built the original Star Guitar for the late great GERRY SHEPHARD who sadly passed away in 2003. Songs performed include the following:
