Nancy Wilson (Of Heart)

Ann and Nancy Wilson first showed the world that women can rock when Heart stormed the charts in the '70s with hits like "Crazy on You," "Magic Man" and "Barracuda."

Says Ann: "We have a bond between us of not only love but a musical bond that is universal and, I think, pretty timeless. We were maybe the first pair of women to come out and say, 'We don't know the rules so we're not going to follow them.' I think a lot of people want to see what it is that we do that nobody else does."

For the first time in almost a decade, rock fans around the country will now have that chance. This summer, Heart will perform 25 to 30 U.S. dates backed by an all-star band of friends including former Ozzy Osborne and Alice In Chains bass player Mike Inez, long time friend and guitarist Scott Olson, Lovemongers drummer Ben Smith and Tom Kellock on keyboards.

Heart has sold 30 million records, had 21 top 40 hits, sold out arenas worldwide, and had a profound influence on rock music. Diversification and individual achievements have marked Heart's last decade. They opened the '90s with Brigade featuring "All I want to Do Is Make Love to You," which reached No. 2 on the charts.

In the mid-'90s, Ann and Nancy formed Lovemongers, an acoustic quartet with long-time collaborator Sue Ennis and performer Frank Cox. After playing a number of sold-out shows in Seattle, Lovemongers cut Led Zeppelin's "Battle of Evermore" for the triple platinum soundtrack from the movie Singles.

Ann and Nancy also took time to pursue solo projects. Nancy scored three films (Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous, Vanilla Sky) for her husband, Oscar-winning filmmaker Cameron Crowe, and two years ago welcomed twin sons Curtis and Billy into the world. Ann, mother of 11-year-old Marie and 3-year-old Dustin, made her theatrical debut in "Teatro Zinzanni," and in 2001 toured the U.S. and Japan with an all-star ensemble company in "Abbey Road: A Tribute to the Beatles."

But the best may be yet to come as Ann and Nancy Wilson prepare to record their first completely new Heart album in nearly a decade.
