Meet rock comic Mark Eddie, an actor, a musician, a comedian and a singer-songwriter who knows music and notices these funny little things about it. He's earned the title "rock comic" because his background as an award winning coffeehouse act, touring musician and frontman for the critically acclaimed rock band "Mark Eddie & the Itch". Now headlining the nation's top comedy clubs, his live shows are just like rock concerts with non-stop laughter!
Mark Eddie's "rock-comedy" show pulls back the curtain and goes where few entertainers can follow . . . behind the music. He pours his soul into a sequence of musical observations, guitar rifts, songs and singing impressions. From the moment Eddie walks on stage, his guitar and vocal talents will captivate you. Within moments, you'll be singing along and laughing out loud.
Featured in Billboard Magazine, CMJ and Campus Activities Today, Eddie is well known for connecting with his audiences. In his show, he vividly recalls how "KISS" songs and a K-Mart broom inspired him to play the guitar. You'll hear what Polka, Heavy Metal & Disco all have in common. Eddie paints such wacky scenarios as watching Neil Diamond as a 3rd grade teacher and what happens when you put Dave Mathews on a turntable and slow it down. Hear dead-on impressions of artists from Matchbox 20 and Shaggy to classic artists like Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Bob Marley. For Eddie, even TV theme song spoofs are fair game. But as far out as Eddie goes, audiences find his show clean - yet tumultuously rebellious!
Eddie is heard on syndicated radio programs such as "The Bob and Tom Show ", "Dr. Demento" and "The Mark and Brian Show". Home in Los Angeles, he has become a favorite on the legendary "KLOS 5:00 Funnies". Geno Michillini, the LA deejay credited with discovering Tim Allen and Jeff Foxworthy says, "Mark is a rare breed of variety entertainer who takes stand-up comedy to another level."
Every bit as genuine and down-to-earth as he appears, Eddie has performed well over 200 shows per year for the past 10 years. He is one of the most consistent and hard working entertainers in the business receiving countless standing ovations for his performances. In addition, Eddie has many national commercials and jingles to his credit for Toys R Us, Sheetz, The Recycling Centers of America and Nickelodeon to name a few.
This past winter, Eddie made his LA theatre debut in the romantic comedy "The Only Game in Town" as the understudy for Emmy Award Nominee Wayne Brady. Recently, Eddie was cast in his first pilot for a new television sitcom entitled, "Vincent's" staring actor, Richard Vincent.
Eddie is a four-time nominee for the prestigious "N.A.C.A Entertainer of the Year Award" and for the "C.A.T Reader's Choice Awards"in two separate categories "Comedian of the Year" and "Entertainer of the Year".
With a frisky sense of humor, tons of talent and a boy-next-door charm, Mark Eddie has what audiences everywhere love. "I'm a child of the 80's", says Eddie, "who married my college sweetheart and have been fortunate enough to make music and laughter my life".
