A guest list from “The Dinner Party From Hell”? No, these are merely some of the myriad alter-egos of comedian, writer and actor, Rob Bartlett, whose talents can be heard every morning on the nationally syndicated “Imus in the Morning” radio program. In 1978, during a leave of absence from Alfred University in upstate New York where he was an English and theater major, Rob started his career as a stand-up comic at “Richard M. Dixon’s White House Inn”, a talent showcase club run by the presidential look-alike. In the early years, Rob supported himself by day as an elevator operator and telephone salesman for radio advertising. It was at Dixon’s club where Rob met a 17-year-old Eddie Murphy, and the two became fast friends as well as two-thirds of the improvisational trio “The Identical Triplets.” When the group broke up shortly after Eddie’s debut on Saturday Night Live, Rob went on as a solo act and became a headliner in comedy clubs and colleges across the country. In 1986, Rob became a regular in-studio guest of Don Imus at radio station WNBC 66AM. When the station was sold and the “Imus in The Morning Show” moved to the WFAN studios in Astoria, Rob became a contract player, writing and performing some of the show’s more popular cast of characters. Rob’s television credits include starring roles on the Paramount/CBS comedy specials “What’s Alan Watching?” and “Move the Crowd.” He has done his standup act on “Late Night with David Letterman”, the “MTV Half Hour Comedy Hour”, “Standup Spotlight” on VH1, and the television classic “The Joe Franklin Show”. He wrote and starred in his own Public Television special, “Rob Bartlett’s Not For Profit T.V.” which was produced by CPTV. He can be seen on a number of national television commercials, most notably for Dunkin’ Donuts and Wendy’s.
