HARRY BASIL LIVES the movies ... and he drags his audience, with him ... kicking, screaming and laughing all the way. His targets are those memorable scenes from classic films. In between Streisand's candlelit ballad for YENTL'S father, and Tom Cruise's tribute to Jockey shorts in RISKY BUSINESS, we are treated to renditions of HALLOWEEN, JAWS, FLASH DANCE, STAR WARS, SUPERMAN...and more... Basil-style! He's a young guy with a long history of watching and making films. What began as a hobby of creating home movies when he was just a kid, became an avocation while still in high school. By the age of 16, he had won the coveted New Jersey Institute of Technology Film Award. It was obvious to all that Harry Basil was well on his way to greatness as a film maker. WRONG! Comic acting was his major goal and summer stock productions in New York and New Jersey gave him the base he needed to study at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and the Actors and Directors Lab. Packing his car full of persistence and talent, Harry headed to California, where an audition at the COMEDY STORE's amateur night landed him a gig as a regular there. Good news travels fast in LA, and soon he was headlining at the most prestigious comedy clubs around the country as well as opening for superstars like Chuck Berry, The Pointer Sisters, Julio Iglesias , The Beach Boys and Liza Minelli. Soon, Rodney Dangerfield hired him for HBO's "Young Comedians Special" and NBC signed him to a holding deal till just the right project could be found. Harry has also produced and directed two movie spoofing segments for "TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes." His film credits include PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED, THE SEVENTH SIGN with Demi Moore and MARTIANS GO HOME with Randy Quaid and Barry Sobel. HARRY BASIL's star is rising ... fast! And as long as Hollywood keeps pumping out movies, he's not going to run out of material. SO, KEEP PUMPING, TINSELTOWN!
