With the growing popularity of the "Detroit Sound," Michigan’s own Poor Boy Music is putting a whole new twist on things, all the while surprising audiences with a fresh style and a unique, fun sound. Since the band's inception in 1997, this seven-member group has been rocking audiences young and old with their brand of horn-powered rock.

PBM’s first full length, self-released CD, “Overview” is packed with everything that makes an album good: catchy hooks, unforgettable melodies, satirical lyrics, driving horn lines and solid grooves. During their 2003 European Tour, the band spent some time recording in Manchester, England. As a result of their hard work, the band recently released their latest EP, “The Manchester Sessions," to a sold out show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Detroit.

PBM's love of music, raw energy, and mad enthusiasm is evident in their music, especially their live performances. PBM's sound continues to catch the attention of people in the states and overseas. The boys rocked Austin, Texas when they played the prestigious South By Southwest Festival in 2003. After that, PBM packed their bags for the European tour where they played the UK’s biggest music festival, In The City—an impressive six shows in ten nights!

After returning from their successful tour, the guys landed a spot on the 2004 National NACA Showcase in Cincinnati, OH. The band has brought their sound to several Michigan hot spots such as The Shelter, Clutch Cargo’s, Hockeytown Café, Smalls, Fifth Avenue, Emerald Theatre, and Freedom Hill and have appeared on the nationally syndicated Mitch Albom Show on WJR AM radio. In the summer of 2004, the guys were chosen to headline Detroit's annual International Freedom Festival Fireworks at Hart Plaza for over 30,000 people. The next stop for the guys is touring college campuses nationwide.
