Jackie Freiberg
Since the overwhelming response to NUTS! Kevin and Jackie have been speaking individually and together to conferences and corporate groups all around the country on Leadership in a Nutshell: Learning from Southwest's Best Practices. More so than ever people are eager and interested in hearing about how they, too, can apply some of Southwest's crazy, but very successful, principles within their organizations and personal lives. Jackie is also the San Diego Consulting Group's managing partner. Besides juggling the multiple priorities of marketing the firm's services, overseeing its daily operations, and managing client relationships, she is the Freiberg family anchor. Jackie is the chief choreographer who coordinates the schedules of two very active daughters, Taylor and Aubrey, and all of the duties that come with trying to be loving parents and good friends. Within their firm and family, Jackie is the chief advocate of the belief that love and life must be thoroughly integrated with making a living. As an executive coach, Jackie works with leaders who want to better understand the impact of their behaviors on organizational performance and who wish to lead bigger, richer lives. Through her work as a feedback consultant, Jackie also debriefs executives, managers, and front-line professionals on the results of the firm's organizational and 360-degree leadership assessments. A dynamic and entertaining speaker as well, Jackie is dedicated to helping working professionals and their families improve the quality of their lives. Jackie is the Co-Founder of the Family Business Institute at the University of San Diego where she is one of the creative forces behind the development of practical, research-based educational programs for closely-held family businesses. She also worked with MassMutual Life Insurance Company to design the first-ever CD-ROM training tool for family businesses and provided expert commentary on the complex business and personal issues family businesses face today. Before joining the San Diego Consulting Group full-time in 1993, Jackie was manager of Corporate and Professional Programs for the University of San Diego. During her tenure at the University, Jackie founded the Certificate in International Business Program and taught public speaking as an adjunct professor. She received her bachelors degree in communication from the University of New Hampshire, masters degree in speech communication from San Diego State University; and she earned a doctorate in educational leadership at the University of San Diego. Jackie and her husband, Kevin, are co-authors of NUTS! Southwest Airlines' Crazy Recipe for Business and Personal Success, published October 1996 by Bard Books. It is an inside look at the leadership principles and practices behind one of America's truly great success stories. Jackie and Kevin live in San Diego with Taylor and Aubrey, and a golden retriever disguised as a Persian cat named Carlos.
