Boone's work in progress, The Interactive E-Manager: Smart Communication Strategies in an E-Business Era (McGraw-Hill, 2001) sets forth her innovative theory of "interactive management" and includes interviews with top executives such as Bill Esrey, CEO of Sprint; Gerry Laybourne, CEO of Oxygen Media; and Steve Kerr, Chief Learning Officer of General Electric. Research for this book focuses on the communication approaches necessary for management success in virtual environments.
Boone's previous book, Leadership and the Computer (Prima Publishing, 1993), was selected as "required reading" for Congress by the Speaker of the House in 1995, and Successful Meetings Magazine selected Boone as one of their top 25 speakers for 1996.
Leadership and the Computer contains compelling case studies of CEOs, chairmen, and presidents who use information technology to change corporate cultures, coach people throughout the firm, manage organizational transition, and enhance their personal effectiveness.
Boone's ideas have received widespread attention. Among those quoting from and praising Boone's work are Tom Peters, The New York Times, CNN, CNBC, National Public Radio, The Financial Times, Investor's Business Daily, Computerworld, InformationWeek, CIO Magazine, Chief Executive Magazine, and IndustryWeek.
