Dr. Robert Lerman is director of Human Resources Policy at The Urban Institute and an economist with broad experience in the policy, academic, and research communities. He has conducted research and published extensively on welfare programs, income inequality, child support, youth employment programs, fatherhood, and family structure. He has also testified on such issues before the U.S. Congress and has delivered keynote speeches to vocational educators, private industry councils, and training and enterprise councils. Dr. Lerman recently served on a National Academy of Sciences panel examining the nation's post-secondary education and training system for the work place and is currently on the advisory board for the National Youth Apprenticeship Initiative of Jobs for the Future.
