Even as a youngster growing up in England, Robin Leach knew he wanted to be a journalist because as young as 10, he loved writing and telling stories. By age 15, Robin Leach was working as a general news reporter for The Harrow Observer and at age 18, moved on to the prestigious Daily Mail as Britain's youngest Page One reporter. In 1963, at the age of 21, Robin Leach emigrated to America where he began writing for a number of publications, and eventually became show business editor of The Star for 10 years.
Robin Leach began his television career reporting for morning shows on KABC-TV in Los Angeles and WABC-TV in New York. In 1980, Robin Leach joined CNN's "People Tonight" and also reported for "Entertainment Tonight" for its first three years. In 1983, Robin Leach launched "Lifestyles Of The Rich and Famous," followed in 1986, by "Fame, Fortune and Romance" for ABC-TV and in 1987, by "Runaway With The Rich and Famous," and in 1993, "Home Video Of The Stars." Today "Lifestyles," with 13 unprecedented seasons, is seen in over 30 countries around the world. Robin Leach has produced and hosted over 300 hours of TV programs and specials including highly-rated profiles on Britain's Royal Family, Madonna, and "Hollywood's High Price of Fame," and the ABC-TV late night "Nightcap" series. In September 1993, Robin Leach began hosting a nightly primetime call in talk show for the new Television Food Network, a 24-hour cable channel for which he also acts as its spokesman. Robin Leach's new cable-TV series, "Gourmet Kitchen," and "Travel Secrets," were joined in early 1996 with, "Wonderful World" specials - the first of which is, "The Wonderful World of Weddings," he co-hosted with Ivana Trump.
Robin Leach wrote an exciting cookbook, Entertaining With The Rich And Famous about the entertaining secrets of the world's wealthiest and most famous people. Robin Leach's second follow-up cookbook, Healthy Lifestyles, was published in October, 1995. He previously authored three books and is currently developing his first novel
In addition to his busy television schedule, Robin Leach is featured in numerous television commercials emphasizing travel and the good life. A Connecticut resident, Robin Leach also maintains a home in Antigua, West Indies but more often is traveling the world for his various television projects -- up to 300 days and over 250,000 miles a year!
