Listen to the intro track from This Time It's Personal, the new Warner Bros. album by Somethin' For The People, and you might draw the wrong conclusion. SFP's culture-clashing send-up of "The Godfather" is hilarious - indeed, Cat Daddy, Sauce and Fuzzy (Da Lil' Nasty) do possess a razor-sharp sense of humor. But this L.A.-based trio did not choose their album title lightly. The songs on This Time It's Personal, all written by SFP, reflect their innermost feelings on life and love. This album is as personal as it gets.

The group's 1995 self-titled debut album built the foundation with the hits "You Want This Party Started" and "With You". The new album promises even more. The first single, "My Love Is The Shhh!", a sexy bump and grind, features Trina and Tamara (sisters of Silas artist Jesse Powell) sharing lead vocals with SFP. "Act Like You Want It" features labelmate Eric Benet and the fun and freaky "I Got Love" features the unstoppable DJ Kool.

Sauce and Fuzzy grew up in Oakland, CA. The son of a preacher, Fuzzy honed his musical chops in the church. Sauce studied sax and trumpet through his school years and developed a reputation as a hot local DJ. The two began writing together and later moved downstate to L.A. to take a stab at a professional music career.

A native of L.A., Cat Daddy was a drummer and sax player in high school, who put aside music for a sports career. He later taught himself keyboards and started writing, then met Fuzzy and Sauce. Their break came when producers Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy tapped the trio to write for R&B singer Samuelle. Among the luminaries theyíve worked with over the years are Brandy, En Vogue, Adina Howard, UNV and En Vogueís Terry Ellis. They recently produced tracks for Will Smithís upcoming rap album.

SFP will be concentrating on taking their own music right where they intended it: to the people. And though they eagerly look forward to making new fans along the way, Fuzzy, Sauce and Cat Daddy know thereís only one way to keep them coming back. Always keep it personal.
